Chances of Marks Improv in Matric Von-Medium made Unlimited: PBCC Verdict

Bahawalpur (Press Release) Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education has given two chances to increase marks for matric and intermediate students according to PBCC notification SY/PBCC/LHR-387 dated November 21, 2022. Unlimited has been done, now students will be able to do matric and intermediate (Marks Improv) indefinitely. However, the following conditions will apply to the candidates who have scored marks above two:

In case of double marking for the first time, a new result card will be issued without withdrawing the previous result card. Candidates who have scored more than two times should cancel their previous result/result card as per the proposed rules of the board before submitting the admission form online.

If a candidate improves his marks after the certificate is issued, the certificate should be canceled along with the result card. Candidates will have to take the Marks Improv exam as per the current Scheme of Studies.

(Press Release) Punjab Board Committee of Chairman has extended the date of receipt of admission forms for Matric First Annual Examination 2023 as per Notification No. SY/PBCC/LHR/483. According to the notification, the last date for submission of admission form with no late fee has been fixed as 25th January. While the last date for submission of admission form with double fee and 06 February and with triple fee has been fixed as 14 February 2023.

It is hereby notified for information of all concerned that the Punjab Boards Committee of Chairpersons (PBCC) in its meeting held on 16th November, 2022 discussed the writ petition No. 52363/2022 submitted by MS Nafar Fatima versus Govt. of the Punjab, vide agenda item No. 02, regarding marks improvement policy. As per decision of the Committee, it is hereby notified that

The impugned notification No. 96-SY/PBCC/LHR, dated 31-03-2022, issued by PBCC regarding restriction on the chances for improvement is hereby rescinded.

ii. Students will be allowed to avail of as many chances for improvement of scores as they may like.

This order will take effect from First Annual Examinations, (SSC&HSSC) 2019 onwards.

The Chairman in anticipation of approval of the Board approved the above decision of PBCC and allowed for adoption and implementation accordingly.

Important rules:

1- The heads of schools of the Punjab government will be able to submit the admission forms of the regular students of their institution without examination fee from 20th December 2022 to 18th January 2023. . Ta Hum Processing Fee Preacher - Rs 5301, Sports Fee - Rs 100, No Scholarship. 801, Development Fund-Rs.2001 and original certificate fee Rs.700 (per candidate) will be required to be paid. Also, the candidates who are not able to succeed in appearing in the class 9th examination will be bound to pay the examination fee of class 9th and 10th (both parts) along with other dues while submitting the class 10th examination form. Candidates re-entering Class IX after failing to appear will also be liable to pay the examination fee and other dues. Also, the bank challan number of the affiliated institution must be entered on the financial form. 2. Candidates who are eligible for fee waiver under any decision of the Board. Such facility is limited to single fee schedule only. After the date of submission of admission form with single fee, they will also be bound to submit examination fee along with other dues as per schedule like other candidates (Private Regular). It should be noted that processing fee preacher - 5301 rupees, sports fee - 1001 rupees, scholarship fee - 801 rupees, development fund - 200 rupees and actual traffic fee - 7001 rupees are not waived to any aspirant under any circumstances.

The price of Result CD (C.D) has been fixed at Rs.300. Therefore, the value of C.D. through bank challan Habib Bank Board Branch Multan by submitting the check dated 2022-12-08 along with the original bank challan on the date of publication of the result and the result C from the inquiry center inquiry branch board at the appointed time. Punjab Boards Committee of Chairmen (PBCC) has announced a revised notification about the improvement policy of Matric & Intermediate students belonging to any Board of Punjab i.e. Lahore, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Multan, Rawalpindi, Sahiwal, Sargodha, Bahawalpur, D.G. Khan & Mirpur AJK. According to the notification, a students can avail as many chances of improvement as they want; there is no limit on the number of improvement chances for students of Matric and Intermediate. This policy is implemented on all the students who completed their Matric/Inter in 1st Annual Examination 2019 and onwards.
Earlier, PBCC issued a notification about improvement policy in March 2022 in which only 4 chances of improvement were given to the students within 3 years of completion of Matric/Inter. Some students challenged this decision in the Lahore High Court and the case has been won by the students and now the revised notification is announced by chances allowing students to have unlimited improvement chances.

The student of Lahore won the court case and changed the Punjab Improvement Policy

In the days of Corona, on the recommendations of the Inter-Board Chairpersons Committee, the policy regarding the improvement examinations was revised by all the education boards, according to which the Federal Board made all the students appear in the examinations unconditionally for the next four years. However, the Punjab Higher Education Department only allowed students with less than 50% marks.

There was a wave of disappointment among the students from Punjab over this policy, but the brave Nafer Fatima from Lahore did not lose heart and decided to go to court against the Punjab government. He took a stand in the case that they should also be given chances for improvement like other provinces so that the rights of students belonging to Punjab are not lost.

While ruling on the student's petition, the court directed the Higher Education Department to reconsider the matter, on which an official notification was issued by the Punjab Boards Committee of Chairman.

According to the notification, a meeting was held by PBCC on November 16, 2022 on the petition of Nafar Fatima, a student, in which the student's case against the Punjab government regarding the MARKS policy was reviewed.

According to the orders issued by PBCC, the notification regarding improvement chances on 31st March 2022 has been suspended, according to the new policy, students will be able to get their own chances for improvement. It will be on the students who do it and those who follow it
